About me

If you clicked on 'About Me' you were probably wondering "Who's Mama M?"

Well, let me introduce myself.

I'm Marieke, born and raised in the Netherlands, now living in Montreal, Canada. I share my life with my fabulous big guy (to whom I'm not married, specifying for any American readers), and my favourite little guy who was born in July 2011.

I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and I'm currently working as a full-time Research Assistant in a lab working on breast cancer. I hope to be able to work part time eventually, spend more time with the little guy (and future siblings...?). When I'm not working or taking care of a quite demanding preschooler, I spend as much time as possible sewing. You may also find me riding my bike. As a family, we like to go camping, go out for hikes, and just generally spend time outside as much as we can!

And now I have another thing to do in my lack of spare time: a blog. I hope it will be well received. I'll attempt to update regularly. I have good intentions....
